Patna: A delegation of MLAs belonging to non-Congress opposition parties to met Bihar Governor D Konwar and demanded immediate dismissal of the Nitish Kumar Government in the wake of the CAG report showing financial irregularities.

In an unusual practice, the Governor met the delegation at the Darbar Hall in the presence of media.

The delegation comprised around 75 legislators, including 65 of 67 suspended MLAs, and some MLCs of RJD-LJP combine, CPI-ML (Liberation), CPI, CPI-M and BSP.

A memorandum submitted by them demanded making public the CAG report for the period 2008-09, besides removal of the state Assembly speaker for his "arbitrary and unilateral ruling".

It also urged the Governor to ensure a CBI probe into the matter which should be monitored by the High Court.

The memorandum, read out by RJD leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, also gave a version of the incidents in the House on July 20 and 21.

The Governor told the delegation that he should be given a chance to resolve the present political crisis in the state.

"Give me a chance, I'll look into it," he said.
