Patna: The opposition on Tuesday walked out of
the state assembly at the fag end of the day`s business to
voice its disagreement with the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil
Kumar Modi`s reply to the debate on the budget (2011-12).
Even as Modi was responding to the opposition`s
assessment of the state budget for next financial year, the
leader of opposition Abdul Bari Siddique -led members of the
RJD, LJP, CPI and the Congress walked out of the house
demanding a CBI probe in the AC/DC bills scam and their
disapproval of budget.
Long after the opposition members had walked out of
the house, Modi said that the state government was not afraid
of the AC/DC bills probe by the CBI if the high court passed
such a directive.
The alleged AC/DC bills irregularities were not a
scam by any standard as there was only the delay of submission
of bills as withdrawal of funds from the treasury and that
since 2002-03 when there was the RJD-led government in power.
It was for the officials to sort out the matter, the
Deputy Chief Minister said, adding that the stains of the
allegations were not at the politicians and ministers and the
withdrawal of funds were not ordered or obtained by them.
