Patna: Stating that he favoured a strong
Lokpal, RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Saturday said Parliament would take
the final decision on the inclusion of prime minister in the
purview of the anti-corruption body.
"I favour a strong Lokpal to root out corruption and
the parliamentary standing committee would formulate it during
its deliberations," Prasad told reporters here.
On the demand for inclusion of the prime minister in
the purview of the Lokpal, he said Parliament would take a
final call in the matter.
To a question on the reported uncertainty on his own
continuance in the parliamentary standing committee, the RJD
president evaded a direct reply saying it was for the parties
would decide on the membership of the committee.
Prasad, who had invited the wrath of the civil society
for his remarks on Anna Hazare and the civil society movement
against corruption, disapproved their methods of agitation
that questioned the authority of Parliament to draft
