Paswan says NDA will fight Bihar polls under Narendra Modi

Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), an ally of BJP, Wednesday described the saffron party as as "elder brother" and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the face of NDA in the coming Bihar polls.
"BJP is our elder brother. Bihar polls will be fought under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership," LJP President and Union minister Ramvilas Paswan told reporters.
Paswan said seat sharing among NDA partners was not a big issue and his party was not bothered about number of seats it would get.
"Seat sharing is not an issue. Whether we get two, 10, 50 or 100 seats doesn't matter. Our only intention is that the present government in Bihar should be replaced," Paswan said.
"Nobody can say that Ramvilas Paswan has ever asked or hankered after seats," he said at state LJP headquarters.
"Who will fight on how many seats or on which seats is our internal issue and these will be decided during meetings held among ourselves (BJP, LJP, RLSP) when the polls come near. We all are on the same boat and our singular aim is to remove the JD(U) government in the state," Paswan added.
To a question of accepting senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi or somebody else as BJP chief ministerial candidate in Bihar, he said "what is there to be accepted? Let polls come we all will meet and deliberate over the issue. The central leadership of BJP will decide about their candidate. Bihar elections will be fought under Narendra Modi's name," Paswan said.
"The way Maharashtra or Haryana got a Chief Minister after the Assembly polls there, the same way we'll get a Chief Minister in Bihar, too. Narendra Modi will decide over the issue," he said.
On Bihar, Paswan said "State Governor seeking a report on Aizpur incident is a serious matter. The law and order situation in Bihar is worsening day-by-day and the infighting in the government is the biggest reason behind it. There is no semblance of a CM in the state. Here ministers and MLAs preach CM."
"The law and order is 'bhagwan bharose' (run in name of God) here and we could see the naked dance of bureaucracy here," he added.
"Manjhi has been isolated to such an extent that he is now holding a meeting of 'Mushahar' (SC) community. Such a meeting is okay, but Nitish Kumar has divided the society in the name of Mushahar, Ravidas, Paswan, Dom castes," Paswan alleged.
The Union Minister praised the visit of US President Barack Obama as a "diplomatic success" of Modi and said it had led to a change in the opinion about India among the Americans and vice versa.
Paswan said Obama's coming would have a positive influence over Delhi polls. "I don't want to attach US President's visit with politics. But it was in national interest, and there was nothing negative about it. The public in Delhi will understand it," he added.
"The central government's only agenda is development. The Prime Minister has never mentioned anything about Ram Janmabhoomi, Babri Masjid, Article 370 or religious conversion before the public," he said.
Paswan said all those like SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Congress, Lalu who were doing politics in the name of Muslims, are the ones who were "fleecing" them. They have not given anything to the minorities.
"They talk of reservation to Muslims, but how much reservation they have given to them in Uttar Pradesh where they are ruling. All their talks are just vote bank politics," Paswan said.
The Union Minister also said that he was in favour of reservation to Scheduled Castes in Public Distribution System (PDS) shops as it was necessary for equality in the society, and added that it should have been done much before.
