Patna HC reserves order on Nitish plea

A single bench of Patna High Court today reserved its order on the petition of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seeking to quash the proceedings against him in a complaint case.

today reserved its order on the petition of Bihar Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar seeking to quash the proceedings against
him in a complaint case related to murder of a Congress leader
18 years ago.

Justice Seema Ali Khan after hearing the counsel for
chief minister Surendra Singh, a senior advocate of the
Supreme Court, reserved her order.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) of Barh
had on August 31, 2009 had taken cognisance against Kumar in
connection with the murder of a Congress leader Sitaram Singh
on November 15, 1991 during Lok Sabha elections and a petition
in this regard was filed by Ashok Singh in 2009.

The complaint was lodged with Pandarak police station
of the district.

Justice Khan, on November 10, 2009 after hearing both
the sides had called for the documents from Barh court while
staying further proceedings in the complaint case wherein
summons were also instructed to be issued against Kumar for
appearing in Barh court.
