Patna: A police officer and a revenue
employee were on Thursday arrested by state vigilance bureau while
they were allegedly accepting bribe in Bihar`s Aurangabad and
Madhepura districts, vigilance sources said.
Acting on a complaint, sleuths raided the office of
station house officer of Haspura police station in
Aurangabad district Ajay Kumar Sinha and caught him
`red-handed` while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs
10,000 from the complainant Sudhir Kumar, the sources said.
This is the first case of arrest of a station house
officer in Bihar this year, they said.
Sinha had promised Kumar to recommend his name as
special police officer, the sources said.
In another case, vigilance officials raided the office
of Jainarayan Yadav, a revenue employee at Chausa block in
Madhepura district and caught him while accepting bribe of Rs
3,000 from Vidyanand Sharma.
Yadav had been approached by Sharma for mutation of a
plot of land.
