Priceless idol recovered, four inter-state smugglers nabbed

Madhepura (Bihar): The police Wednesday arrested four smugglers of an inter-state gang from a hideout
under Murliganj police circle area here and recovered a
priceless idol of Goddess Sita, a police official said.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a hideout
and arrested the four smugglers, identified as the kingpin
Manoj Paswan, Bablu Singh, Pappu Kumar and Vivek Kumar, and
seized the idol from their possession, Superintendent of
Police (SP) Varun Kumar Sinha said.

Paswan was wanted in connection with several criminal
cases, including that of murder and smuggling of idols,
registered against him in Punjab and Haryana, besides Bihar.
