Patna: Protests continued at different
places in Bihar in support of the anti-corruption stir by
social activist Anna Hazare.
Businessmen, lawyers, LIC agents and doctors took out
processions in Munger, Muzaffarpur, Araria, Saharsa, Gaya,
Bhagalpur and a few other places demanding that the demand of
the Gandhian for Jan Lokpal bill be conceded.
Fast, processions and demonstrations continued in Patna
for the 11th day today at Kargil chowk to express solidarity
with Anna team for an effective Lokpal.
Intellectuals, lawyers, students, some doctors and
workers under the banner of Bihar unit of 'India Against
Corruption' (IAC) continued their fast at Kargil chowk here to
support Hazare's demand for passing of the Jan Lokpal bill in
Parliament by August 30.
Doctors brought out candlelight processions in
Saharsa. People brought out processions and held
demonstrations at several places, state IAC Convenor Sanjay
Kumar Dutta said.
Mass awareness campaign and signature drive also
continued at different places in Bihar to muster people's
support in the fight against corruption, he said.
