Rahul Gandhi scheduled to visit Bihar this month-end

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Bihar to attend a party function to be held in the state capital between September 28 and 30 next, according to state unit youth Congress president Lallan Kumar.

Patna: AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Bihar to attend a party function to be held in the state capital between September 28 and 30 next, according to state unit youth Congress president Lallan Kumar.

"Gandhi has given his consent to visit Patna to attend the youth Congress function on any day between September 28 to 30 next", he told reporters here today.

The AICC General Secretary will hold a session with the leaders and workers of the state unit youth Congress to gear them for the assembly polls to be held in
October/November next, Kumar said.

It will be the second visit by the 40 year-old Congress leader to the poll-bound state within a month, he said.

Gandhi had visited Saharsa and Samastipur on September four last to address public meetings to virtually kick off the election campaign for his party for the crucial assembly
polls.

In order to woo the younger generation towards the Congress, Kumar said that he will strive to secure 40 percent tickets out of 243 seats for the youth candidates and claimed
that he has received support on the issue from the national youth Congress leadership.

Referring to the youth Congress workers hitting some people with lathis and damaging public property during their agitation in Patna last month, he apologized about the
behaviour of his workers and said that such incidents will not recur in future.
