Sheikhpura: A rare idol of Lord
Vishnu, made of the precious stone Ashtadhatu was stolen from
a temple in Asmi village of Bihar's Sheikhpura district,
police said on Sunday.
Unidentified men barged into the Lakshmi Narayan
temple late on Saturday night and stole the idol, weighting about 80
kg, sources said.
A case has been registered in this connection at Korma
police station.
The idol was found from the village itself during an
excavation in 1945 and placed in the temple for worship.
