Patna: Rebel RJD MP Uma Shankar Singh
today said he would campaign for his supporters to ensure
their victory in the coming assembly polls irrespective of
their party affiliation.
"I have asked my supporters to seek poll tickets from
any party. I will campaign for them and ensure their victory,"
Singh told reporters here.
Singh, who recently quit the RJD Parliamentary Board
as well as all party posts following differences with Prasad
over selection of candidates in the former`s parliamentary
constituency Gopalganj, alleged that the party has decided to
barter its tickets to rich people for obvious reasons.
He rubbished Prasad`s contention that he had given a
new lease of life to the ageing leader by giving him Lok Sabha
ticket and ensured his victory, saying if that was the case,
then why RJD candidates lost on the remaining 36 seats in last
year`s parliamentary polls.
"I am not in politics because of the RJD chief`s
benevolence," Singh said and reminded Prasad that he was an
MLA since 1977 prior to becoming an MP last year.
Singh had fallen out with the RJD leadership ever
since his bete noire and former JD(U) leader Prabhu Nath Singh
joined the RJD last month.
