Patna: The RJD on Tuesday demanded that Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar sack his Cooperative Minister Ramadhar
Singh for allegedly being an absconder for the last 16 years,
a charge, Singh said was untrue.
Opposition leader in the state assembly and
legislative council leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Gulam Gaus,
respectively demanded at a press conference that Chief
Minister dismiss Singh.
Siddiqui alleged that the minister had concealed the
cases against him in the affidavit while filing nomination
from the Aurangabad assembly seat in 2010 polls that he won on
a BJP ticket.
"I have written a letter to the Chief Minister
apprising him of the cases against the cooperative minister
and urged him to sack him as he is an absconder in a criminal
case," Siddique said.
He said he would submit a memorandum to Governor
Devanand Konward seeking Singh`s removal.
Contacted, the BJP Minister denied all the charges and
said it was not to his knowledge that he was declared
absconder in 1995.
