Gaya: A court here Friday granted
bail to RJD MLA and former state minister Surendra Prasad Yadav in connection with the firing at a medical college in
Gaya town last month.
Additional District and Session Judge S K Rai allowed
the bail application of Yadav and asked him to furnish a bond
of Rs 10,000 with a surety of the like amount to secure release.
Yadav had last week surrendered before the court
following an indefinite strike by junior doctors at the
medical colleges and hospitals across Bihar seeking his
immediate arrest in connection with the incident.
His two bodyguards, currently lodged in judicial
custody, had opened fire at Anugraha Narayan Magadh
Medical College (ANMCH), injuring three junior doctors after
the MLA had a heated argument with junior doctors over the
treatment of a Dalit woman on January 30.
