Patna: Bihar Congress, on behalf of AICC
president Sonia Gandhi, today distributed cheques of Rs one
lakh to each of the families of the four persons killed in
police firing at Forbesganj.
Congress in-charge of Bihar Gulchain Singh Charak, who
distributed the compensation, also visited Bhajanpur village
in Forbesganj in Bihar`s Araria district with Bihar PCC chief
Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser, Congress spokesperson H K Verma
said.
Verma said Charak also gave Rs 10,000 to each of those
injured in the police action.
Four persons were killed and many injured after police
fired on locals opposing construction of a starch factory and
its approach road in the Forbesganj Industrial Area on June 3.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a judicial
inquiry into the incident.
