Setback to RJD ahead of Bihar polls

In a major setback to the RJD ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar, two of its senior leaders Bhagwan Lal Sahni and Sital Ram, who was also a member of the erstwhile Rabri Devi cabinet, on Thursday joined the ruling JD(U).

Patna: In a major setback to the RJD ahead
of the assembly elections in Bihar, two of its senior leaders
Bhagwan Lal Sahni and Sital Ram, who was also a member of the
erstwhile Rabri Devi cabinet, on Thursday joined the ruling JD(U).
Sahni, who unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha
elections from Muzaffarpur in 2009 on RJD ticket, and Ram took
primary membership of the JD(U) at a press conference by Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar and the state party chief Vijay Kumar
Choudhary.

Sahni and Ram claimed that they were impressed by the
development work being carried out in Bihar under the
leadership of Kumar.
With their joining, the JD(U)`s electoral prospects
would brighten in Tirhut division, the chief minister said.
