Patna: Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, sulking for some time for not being given prominence within BJP, former minister Yashwant Singh, cine star Hema Malini and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje were prominent leaders staying away from the party's two-day national executive here.

While it was immediately not known as to what prompted Yashwant to stay away, Hema Malini did not come on board reportedly to protest against the party's decision not to send her to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

Raje, who had a bitter relationship with the former BJP president Rajnath Singh, also did not turn up for reasons best known to her, party sources said.

Shatrughan said he will not attend the party rally here tomorrow and expressed concern over its functioning.

"I am not going to attend tomorrow's rally," Sinha, the BJP MP from Patna Sahib, said when his comment was sought on his arrival here from New Delhi.

"In fact, I am concerned the way the party is being run ...why senior leaders like Yashwant Sinha, B C Khandouri, Arun Shourie are being cornered," he said.

"It (the issue of BJP's functioning) should be raised at the party level... Hema Malini who should have got Rajya Sabha ticket has also not been invited in tomorrow's rally," he said adding, "so I am also not attending because my role has not been defined".

A 'Rashtriya Swabhiman' (national pride) rally will be held at the conclusion of the two-day BJP national executive meet here which will be addressed by top party leaders like L K Advani and Nitin Gadkari, signalling the launch of the Bihar assembly election campaign of the party.

i`m happy that bjp doesn`t work with filmstars who are only crowd pullers and not votes pullers. shatru and hema are neighbours in mumbai so they can console each other in hema`s bedroom.

RAJAT KUMAR MOHINDRU - JALANDHAR CITY .PUNJAB
m.p. mr shatrughan sinha not attending the meeting for giving not prominence is a very serious issue . b.j.p. organization have given him party ticket on which he has been elected .he is enjoying all the status and perks that are been given to the m.p.`s , there are hundered`s of those in punjab who had faced the heat of terrorism when terrorists activities were on top , most of the b.j.p. leaders refused to the posts and those were in posts and working in the organization most of them have now been ignored .the reason that new leaders in punjab of b.j.p. know less of the leaders that had stood with the party during terrorism . will the nation president b.j.p. mr nitin gadkari will enquir the matter that why those past leaders are ignored ? the organization should honor the old party leaders.

PP TALWAR - India
though, having only two lok sabha mps in its kitty in 1984, bjp had mustered enough srength to form a coalition government in 1989 by exploiting to the hilt the bofors scandal, involving rajiv gandhi for which there is no proof till today, bjp is now facing srious internal bickerings over the issue of giving rajya sabha tickets to ram jthmalani, tarun vijay and chandan mitra. the defiance of shatrughan sinah in not attending the bjp rally is quite indicative of bjp`s weakening political status.

from the sequence of events, concerning bjp like denial of rajya sabha ticket to hema malini, instead giving ticket for rajya sabha seat to ram jethmalani, tarun vijay and chandan mitra, it is quite evident that as claimed by the bjp president nitin gadkari that bjp is a party with difference, it should rightly be called, a party with differences.

it shows that visible and invisible leaders of the party are unable to manage the party.
