Syed Shahabuddin`s daughter in fray in Bihar

Parveen Amanullah, daughter of diplomat-turned-politician Syed Shahabuddin, who countered the campaign to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya, is among candidates of ruling JD(U) in Bihar.

diplomat-turned-politician Syed Shahabuddin, who countered the
campaign to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya, is among candidates
of ruling JD(U) in Bihar.

JD(U) is contesting the October-November assembly
polls in the state in alliance with BJP.
Amanullah, who is also wife of senior IAS officer Afzal
Amanullah, has been given party`s symbol from Sahebpur Kamal
in Begusarai district, according to the list released by the
party.

Her name was doing the rounds as a possible contender
for the JD(U) ticket from the seat.

Her husband earlier principal secretary to the home
department prior to his present position of principal
secretary to the cabinet coordination department.
When contacted, Parveen Amanullah said she is a
candidate of the alliance led by Nitish Kumar and ``am
confident of my victory``.

Syed Shahabuddin was president of All India Muslim
Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM).
