Patna: The vigilance sleuths on Thursday
arrested Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC)`s tax collector
Anil Kumar and an assistant Lembu Lal from their Bankipur
office for taking a bribe of Rs 2000 from a person, an
official release said.
Acting on the complaint of Sunil Kumar, a vigilance
team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chandra
Prakash Paswan laid a trap and caught Kumar and Lal red-handed
while they were taking the bribe amount, the release said.
PMC officials have been arrested under the provisions
of the prevention of corruption act, it said.
The complainant had alleged that PMC officials` duo
was demanding bribe for registration of their dead parents
property in his name.
In a related development, another vigilance team
arrested Home Gaurd`s company commander Rama Prajapati from
his residence in MP Bagh locality in Ara town for taking a
bribe of Rs 4000 from the complainant jawans - Jai Bahadur
Singh and Karu Singh for giving them duty.
