Ten killed, 18 injured in road mishap in Kishanganj

Kishanganj: Ten people, including eight members of a band party, were killed and 18 others injured in two separate road mishaps in Kishanganj and Khagaria districts Tuesday, police said.

Eight members of a band party were killed on the spot when a minibus in which they were travelling overturned near Tikiha bridge in Kishanganj district today, police said.

The victims were returning in the overcrowded bus to Kishanganj from Forbesganj after performing at a marriage ceremony, the police said.

The injured were admitted to Matagujri Medical College and Hospital, where condition of five persons was stated to be critical.

In Khagaria, two persons were killed and six others injured, four of them seriously, when a jeep carrying them collided head-on with a coal-laden truck on Khagaria-Bakhari road.

Of the injured, four were sent to Patna Medical College Hospital for treatment, while other two were being treated in Khagaria.
