Three dead, 12 others injured in bus-truck collision

Three persons lost their lives while twelve others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Jarang village in Bihar`s Muzaffarpur district today.

Patna: Three persons lost their lives while twelve others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Jarang village in Bihar`s Muzaffarpur district today.

Police said the accident occurred around 30 km from Muzaffarpur town on a stretch of NH-57 that was declared one way. The bus was coming from Patna and was on its way to Darbhanga while the truck was coming from the opposite direction.

"It seems both the vehicles were speeding and bumped into each other head-on. Two passengers - a man and a woman - died on the spot and the rest were injured. Another person died later on during treatment," police said.

The injured have been taken to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur for treatment where the condition of eight of them is stated to be serious. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
