Acting on tip off, the security forces comprising of the CRPF's 131st battalion led by deputy commandant Saroj Kumar and the Police raided a hideout in Duarwa forest under Shayam
police outpost area and busted an illegal arms factory, Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Kumar Sinha said.
Large quantity of raw material and machines used for processing weapons were seized and disposed off on the spot, he said.
The security forces also busted two more illegal arms factories of the Maoists at Lakarjhulla hills under Naya Ramnagar police station limits and Bariakol forest under East Colony police station area respectively, Sinha said.
During another combing-cum-search operation against the Maoists, the security personnel arrested an arms smuggler Kapildev Thakur with three automatic pistols from a house in Gaira hills under Mufassil police station area, the SP said.
Thakur was being interrogated to find out whether he had any links with the Maoists, Sinha added.
