Three kids killed in mudslide in Bihar

Three children lost their lives and three others were seriously injured after a huge mound of mud fell on them in Siwan district of Bihar on Sunday, a police official said.

Siwan: Three children lost their lives and three others were seriously injured after a huge mound of mud fell on them in Siwan district of Bihar on Sunday, a police official said.

The incident occurred in Badhauna village under Siwan police station in the district. The deceased have been identified as Anshu Kumari (7), Savita Kumari (8) and Niraj Kumar (10).

Siwan Station House Officer (Dev Narayan Prasad) said, "All the kids belonging to a 'mahadalit' locality in the village had gone to bring mud used for cleaning body and utensils. They were digging it out when a large mound of mud fell on them. They got trapped beneath it."

Villagers rushed to the spot after hearing the sound of mudslide and screams of children. Immediate rescue efforts were launched and bodies as well as the injured were taken out.

The injured kids have been admitted to a private hospital.
