Three shot dead in Gumla district

Gumla: Three persons, including a deputy village head, were shot dead by unidentified assailants at Koinjara village in Naxal-hit Gumla district, the police said here.
The deputy village head, Bhubaneswar Gop (32), Tunu Gop (32) and Keswar Oraon (37) were holding a meeting at one Budhu Mahto`s house at Koinjara village when eight to ten armed men barged into the house and gunned them down last night, Superintendent of Police Jatin Narwal said.
Ruling out any Naxal outfit’s involvement in the incident, he said the crime was perpetrated by a criminal outfit of the district.
