Patna: A thunder squall with wind speed
between 45 kmph and and 55 kmph might lash isolated places in
Bihar`s Seemanchal belt in the next 24 hours, Met sources said
today.

A tornado wrecked havoc in the Seemanchal belt
comprising six districts -- Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj,
Supaul, Katihar and Madhepura -- last month killing 93 people
and razing to the ground thousands of houses.

When contacted, state Disaster Management Department`s
Principal Secretary Vyasji said all precautionary steps were
being taken by the department in the wake of the warning.

"We have asked the district authorities to caution the
villagers in their respective districts and ensure readiness
of hospitals in the areas," Vyasji said.
