Patna: The Bihar government on Monday announced that it will appoint Urdu teachers in all state-run school in a bid to promote the language.
According to reports, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi stated that Urdu teachers would initially be appointed in the schools located in minority-dominated areas, following which, the remaining schools shall follow suit.
This move scraps the provision that reportedly states that Urdu teachers can be appointed in only those school s which had at least 10 students learning the language.
