New York: As many as six in every 10
American employees are unhappy with their present jobs and are
planning to look for new jobs next year, a survey says.
According to a report by talent and career management
consulting firm Right Management, about 60 percent of
the employees it surveyed intend to leave their jobs in 2010.
About 21 percent may leave their present jobs and will
be networking to pursue new job opportunities as the economy
improves in 2010, adds the survey.
While, only 13 percent said they are planning to stay
in their current jobs, the remaining are unlikely to change
the job but have updated their resume.
"Employees are clearly expressing their pent-up
frustration with how they have been treated through the
downturn.
"While employers may have taken the necessary steps to
streamline operations to remain viable, it appears many
employees may have felt neglected in the process. The result
is a disengaged and disgruntled workforce," Right Management
president and chief operating officer Douglas J Matthews said
while releasing the report.
Right Management, a part of the global leader in
employment services Manpower Inc, surveyed about 904 US
employees between October 19 and November 5.
