New Delhi: The airfares will rise by up to eight per cent in India next year on expectations of growth in positive sentiment in the Asia Pacific region, says an American Express Global Business Travel Forecast report.
While the fares for domestic air-travel will increase
between 3 and 8 per cent, the air-ticket prices will rise
between 1 and 6 per cent in 2010, according to the forecast.
Hotel tariff too will go up between 1 and 6 per cent
next year, it added.
The report said the cost of travel throughout the Asia
Pacific will experience the largest increase globally in 2010.
The increase in airfares and hotel rates would be due to
expectations of increases positive trends in the Asia Pacific
region.
The Forecast was produced by eXpert insights, a newly
created research practice of American Express Business
Travel’s Global Advisory Services.
