Mumbai, March 31: Ashok Leyland, the flagship
automobile firm of the Hinduja Group, Friday said Avia Ashok
Leyland Motors and Ashok Leyland (UAE) have ceased to be its
subsidiaries as of March 29, following a restructuring of the
ownership pattern.
Avia Ashok Leyland Motors (earlier the truck business
unit of Avia based in Prague,) was part of Ashok Leyland since
October 2006 and offers trucks that are marketed in the Czech
Republic, Hungary, UK, Ireland, Slovakia and Spain.
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland (UAE) LLC was set up as
a subsidiary company in Ras al Khaimah of UAE for putting up a
bus body assembly plant in Ras al Khaimah to cater to the West
Asian and neighbouring markets.
