New Delhi: The government will raise Rs
11,000 crore next week through sale of securities against
Rs 7,000 crore targeted earlier.
As per the indicative calendar, during September 11-18
2009, the government was to auction security worth Rs 7,000
crore, however it has decided to enhance the amount to Rs
11,000 crore in view of the cancelled auction of August 7,
2009 when all the bids received were rejected.
"The government of India, in consultation with the
Reserve Bank of India, have decided to enhance the amount of
auction to Rs 11,000 crore in view of the cancelled auction of
August 7, 2009 when all the bids received were rejected," an
official release said.
