Mumbai: National Aviators Guild, the recently formed union of Jet Airways pilots, today said it is serving a strike call notice to the airline management on Monday to protest the termination of two senior pilots.
"We are serving the mandatory 14-day notice to the management on the proposed strike," National Aviators Guild President Girish Kaushik told reporters after a meeting of pilots here.
"We have no financial or other demands. We only want the management to take back the two sacked pilots into service,"
Kaushik said.
The Jet Airways has recently terminated service contracts of its two senior pilots allegedly on the ground that they were trying to indulge in union activities.
Kaushik said setting up of a pilots union is not illegal and is very much within the constitution. There are some 700 pilots under the umbrella of Aviators Guild.
