PM panel to lead India’s response to financial crises New Delhi, Nov 04: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday constituted an apex group under his chairmanship to coordinate the government's response on industry's concerns in the wake of the global financial crisis and its impact on India.

The group would comprise of Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Industry and Commerce Minister Kamal Nath, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and RBI Governor D Subbarao.

"The group will meet regularly to coordinate and decide the government's response to the points raised by industry time to time with regard to the current global financial crisis and its impact on India," an official release said.

The decision to constitute the group comes a day after the Prime Minister held a meeting with the industry leaders on the global crisis.

The Prime Minister has also approved a Committee of Officials chaired by Finance Secretary that would meet on a daily basis or as often required to consider the issues raised by the industry.

The members of the CoS include Commerce Secretary, Industry Secretary and Secretary in the Planning Commission, "The Joint Secretary (Banking), Finance Ministry will be the government contact person to receive suggestions from industry," the release said.

Earlier in the day Chidambaram met with PSU banks who assured him of slashing lending rates by atleast .75%.

Talking to the industry leaders yesterday, Singh had said "We recognise that the situation is abnormal and we need to be constantly on the alert. The situation is being watched on a day-to-day basis and more steps will be taken if required."

He had also hoped that the industry will not give any knee-jerk reaction like mass lay-offs to deal with the crises.

Raj Thackeray is Bhinderawala and Udhav Thackeray is Mohammed Ali Jinnah in the making. Both are poisonous snakes and popularly known as "NaagNaath" and "SaapNaath".
SC should not shy away but should pass order to hang anti-nationals Raj and Udhav Thackerays. They should be finished before they finish India.

The Haste in which the Govt. is working on Financial front is welcome. But the approach must not be ad-hoc basis just to run the show anyhow till the Assembly Elections of next General Elections. The approach must be for the overall improvement of Indian Economy in medium to long run.

Innovations must be explored, the ways must be found by which industry can reduce the power consumption. An innovative idea. We use regulators to control the speed of a fan. These regulators have resistance which wastes energy as heat is produced. The fan motor also becomes hot. If power is supplied to fan in form of pulses instead of uniform power I think more than 50% of power would be saved on one fan alone. and if all of us uses these high quality supply unit, for fans then India can at least save 5-10 % of power. If the same principle is applied on automobile motors, i.e vehicles, i.e supplying power in form of pulses / tickles. Then India can save a lot and become self dependant.

Industry needs to introspact on their fincial expenditures.

Companies need to have liquidity, to pay the rising cost of fuel. Some innovation the companies can do is by sharing the mode of transport with other companies. Like Call Centre A can share its cab facilities with call centre B. The states need to provide smart public transport, good quality buses, metro etc. So that companies can motivate their employees to use these wherever possible. Like people of Delhi can use a combination of Delhi Metro and their company cab to reach their offices.
