Moscow: A Russian nuclear construction company has signed a memorandum on cooperation with the Czech and Slovak companies in the construction of nuclear power plants (NPP) built to Russian-blue prints and provided with VVER reactors on the territory of the Czech Republic, Russia and third countries.
The memorandum signed by Atomstroyexport intends to apply to the Czech and Slovak companies, asking to provide equipment or services to construction sites of new NPPs on both the territory of Russia and third countries, and expect its partners to make constructive proposals, including a possibility of financing.
In case of winning tenders for the construction of two nuclear Temelin reactors in the Czech Republic Atomstroyexport will make efforts to ensure maximum participation of the Czech and Slovak companies as the suppliers of equipment and services in the construction of these reactors.
Given Czech vast and positive experience in operating NPPs provided with VVER reactors, Czech production of a considerable part of the equipment and spare parts for these reactors will enable to ensure energy independence of the Czech Republic.
The construction of the third and fourth reactors envisages participation of companies from a number of the European Union countries, including Italy and France.
