Chennai: DMK president M Karunanidhi was on Friday discharged from the Kauvery Hospitals here where he was undergoing treatment for nearly a fortnight for his throat and lung infection.
The 92-year-old leader was rushed to the hospital on the night of December 15. Doctors treating him said that a process was initiated to clear his infection.
This was the second time the veteran leader was admitted to the hospital this month.
On Dec 1, he was admitted to the hospital after suffering from hydration. He was discharged on December 7 and advised rest for a few days.
Karunanidhi has not been seen in public for over a month now ever since he developed a drug allergy.
His discharge comes just days after the hospital released a picture of the DMK chief watching TV, flanked by a medical team.
