Chhattisgarh: Five CAF jawans injured in accidental grenade blast

Five Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) jawans were on sunday injured, one of them critically, in an accidental blast at their camp in Maoist-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

Raipur: Five Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) jawans were on sunday injured, one of them critically, in an accidental blast at their camp in Maoist-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
"The jawans were injured when a hand grenade accidentally went off inside the 15th battalion (E Company) camp of CAF in Bodli village under Nelasnar police station limits," Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vivek Shukla told a news agency over phone.

The explosion took place when jawans were cleaning their weapons and grenades inside the camp, Shukla said.

Those injured were identified as - constables Ballaiya Gota, Gopal Jatwar, Ravi Ranjan, Arvind Chaudhary and Kunjbihari.

"Critically injured Ballaiya Gota has been airlifted to Raipur for treatment," the ASP said, adding that the other jawans were admitted to a hospital in Jagdalpur town, where their condition was stated to be stable.
