Chhattisgarh: Minister`s house attacked

Suspected Maoists on Thursday opened fire on a Chhattisgarh minister`s house in Kondagaon district, killing one security guard, police said.

Jagdalpur/Raipur: Suspected Maoists on Thursday opened fire on a Chhattisgarh minister`s house in Kondagaon district, killing one security guard, police said.

Women and Child Welfare Minister Lata Usendi was not in the house when three suspected Maoists, riding a motorcycle, fired at it this afternoon, Additional Director General of Police Ram Niwas said.

The security guard Narsingh Markam was seriously injured and succumbed in hospital, he said.

The assailants took away the weapon of Markam.

Some relatives of the minister were present in the house at the time of the incident but they were unharmed.
