Raipur: The Congress has called for a shutdown in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday to protest against the police action against party workers on Monday.
The police had lathicharged Congress workers while they were carrying out the 'Kisan Nyay Yatra'.
Several party leaders were injured during the demonstration.
On Monday, thousands of Congress workers had gheraoed the state Assembly to step up their protest against the Raman Singh government.
The six-day-long Kisan Nyay Yatra had concluded in Raipur on Monday after passing through six cities. It was led by state Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel.
The aim of the yatra was to protest against rising corruption during the Raman Singh government and its failure to fulfill poll promises.
