CRPF jawan injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh

A CRPF jawan was on Thursday injured in a landmine blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

Raipur: A CRPF jawan was on Thursday injured in a landmine blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

Officials said the incident occurred at about 10 am when a contingent of the special commando force CoBRA was out on task near the worst Maoist violence affected area of Chintagufa-Tamilwada Nala axis.

Constable Dev Suresh was hit by an explosion of a hidden IED. A chopper from Jagdalpur has been sent in to evacuate Suresh.

Other troops of the 206th unit of this CoBRA unit are safe, they said.
