Raipur: In a joint action by the Central
Reserve Police Force and the district police, eight Naxals
were arrested from Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh.
These Naxalites are arrested for their alleged
involvement in the killing of 27 jawans in Narayanpur district
last year, police said on Sunday.
The police said they came to know about a meeting that
the Naxalites planned to hold in Sulenga hills here.
Following the tip-off, police clamped down on the
surrounding areas and arrested eight Naxalites.
Police have also recovered two tiffin-bombs, detonator,
wires and other equipment from the Naxalites.
Besides their involvement in the killing of 27 police
personnel, the naxalites were also allegedly involved in other
grave criminal activities, they added.
