Major reshuffle of top police officers in Chhattisgarh

In a major reshuffle following the death of nine policemen in a Naxal ambush earlier this week in Gariyaband district, Chhattisgarh government on Friday transferred top police officers of naxal-affected areas.

Raipur: In a major reshuffle following the
death of nine policemen in a Naxal ambush earlier this week in
Gariyaband district, Chhattisgarh government on Friday transferred
top police officers of naxal-affected areas.
Officials said that Gariyaband SP Kamallochan Kashyap
would be replaced by SDOP, Bijapur Ramgopal Garg.

The government has also created the new post of Deputy
Inspector General (Naxal Operations) for the naxal-affected
districts of Dhamtari, Gariyaband and Mahasamund.

Himanshu Gupta, DIG, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, will be
the first to hold this post, said officials.
Bastar SP P Sundarraj has been transferred to Korba,
while the incumbent Ratanlal Dangi has been shifted to Bastar.

Some of the other important transfers include: AIG BP
Pousharya as SP Surajpur, Additional SP Bilaspur Jitendra
Singh Meena as SP Balrampur, Sanjeev Shukla from State Police
Service as SP Jashpur.
