Naxalite killed in police encounter in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: One Naxalite was killed and another
arrested today in an encounter with security personnel in
Chhattisgarh`s Bastar district, officials said.

"A Naxalite was killed and another arrested in an
encounter with a joint team of police and BSF at a forest near
Warla village in Kanker district in Bastar," SP Ajay Yadav

The encounter took place when the security forces, who
were returning from area domination exercise, retaliated after
the extremists fired at them, he said.

Five loaded pistols were also seized from the arrested
rebel, the SP said.

In another encounter in a forest near Dadargarh village
in the district, police seized weapons including SLR rifle
from the outlaws, he said.
