Naxals kill SPO`s brother, kidnap 5 villagers in Chhattisgarh

Naxals today killed brother of a Special Police Officer (SPO) and kidnapped five villagers in Chhattisgarh`s Kanker district, police said.

Special Police Officer (SPO) and kidnapped five villagers in
Chhattisgarh`s Kanker district, police said.

The ultras slit the throat of Jagdev in the wee hours
after forcefully taking him along with them last night from
village Partapur, Kanker Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav
told PTI over phone.

The Maoists targeted Jagdev as his brother had joined the
ranks of Special Police Officers, who are mainly engaged in
fighting the Naxals, he said.

In a separate incident in the same district, five persons
in Sarandi village were abducted by the Naxals at gunpoint,
Yadav said.

A police team has been dispatched to the village, the SP
said.
