Raipur: Nine persons were killed and 23
others were injured in an accident near Rakhee village here
this afternoon, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Deepanshu Kabra told PTI
that a pick-up van carrying a marriage party collided head-on
with a truck at Abhanpur, 25 km from here, leading to the
death of nine persons on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Narsingh, Hariram, Pawan,
Raven Sen, Dilip, Gopal, Pravin, Tularam and Bhushan
The injured have been admitted to the Ambedkar Hospital
here, he said, adding that the condition of four persons is
critical.
Kabra said the truck driver has been arrested.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh
condoled the death of the nine accident victims.
