Additional superintendent of police O P Sharma said that Dayaram (32), Balkrishna alias Krishna Nag (37), Lalit Kumar Potai (30), Guddu Medam alias Pavan Kumar Pradhan (40), Koliya alias Sudhram Netam (25), Tilanand alias Guddu (20) and a woman Naxal called Sukli Vadde (25) surrendered in the presence of senior police officers.
Sukli, associated with Naxal movement since 2006, was a member of military company number 6 of the Maoists and was involved in an attack in which 27 security personnel were killed in 2010 and another attack on Jhara Camp where five jawans were killed in 2011, Sharma said.
She had also worked in Naxal's medical wing in Kiskoda region and had close connections with senior ultras, he said.
The others who surrendered today were active in Barda Local Guerrilla Saquad in Keshkal region of Kanker. They were carrying cash rewards of Rs 10,000 each on their heads.
The rebels cited disillusionment with the movement and exploitation of lower-rank and women rebels by Naxals leaders from Andhra Pradesh as the reasons for?surrender, the ASP said.
