The sex ratio is above 1,000 in the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, and Jashpur districts, state census director Renu
Pillay said today.
Bastar has the best ratio at 1,024, she said.
Overall, the state`s sex ratio has improved from 989 in 2001 to 991 now, she said.
Chhattisgarh`s population as per the latest census is 2,55,40,196 of which 1,28,27,915 are males and 1,27,12,281 are females.
The least population density of 20 was recorded in the Naxal-hit Narayanpur district, Pillay said.
Literacy rate is 71.04 percent in the state, a rise from 64.66 percent earlier, she added.
