Mumbai: Battery major Exide Industries on Monday said its net profit surged by twofold to Rs 130.48 crore for the December quarter, against Rs 56.15 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
During the quarter, total income rose to Rs 912.91 crore against Rs 789.23 crore, Exide said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
For the nine months ended December, its net profit rose by 86.20 per cent to Rs 402.55 crore against Rs 216.19 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Total income during the first three quarters rose to Rs 2,767.07 crore against Rs 2,598.51 crore.
The Exide counter closed at Rs 121.65 on the BSE, up 4.69 per cent from its previous close.
