St Lucia: In an unprecedented move, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has barred Indian players from attending late-night parties during the entire ICC World Twenty20 in West Indies. In a statement, the cricket board has asked the Team India management to ensure that all the players are back in their respective hotel rooms by 9.30 pm. It is learnt that most of the BCCI members, in the wake of the IPL controversy and its suspended commissioner Lalit Modi’s efforts to mix entertainment with cricket, want to rein in some senior players whose late-night partying habits are interfering with their fitness levels. It was also reported that most of the players are finding it hard to adjust to the morning schedule after the third season of the IPL, which was an all-night affair with regular post match parties.Since India will play both of their first round matches from 9.30 am local time, it’s mandatory to maintain ‘early to bed and early to rise’ schedule.India play their first match against Afghanistan on Saturday and take on South Africa on Sunday.
