Pub brawl: Errant players to explain Zeecric Bureau

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a show-caused notice on Tuesday to six Indian cricketers who were involved in a brawl with fans at a pub in West Indies last Tuesday.

The show-cause notice was issued to Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Ashish Nehra, Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla and Zaheer Khan by BCCI secretary N Srinivasan at board president Shashank Manohar’s behest.

According to an Indian news daily, four of this six players, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Ashish Nehra and Ravindra Jadeja, will also be omitted from the side that will be chosen to tour Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup next month.

The board, however, has no complaints against skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as they feel that the issue was handled well by him, though he had erred in cricketing decisions.

“The board has no issue with the captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the president doesn’t doubt his integrity,” said a source.

The BCCI has asked the team manager for the World Cup tour, Ranjib Biswal, to submit a report on India’s performance at tour and the reason’s behind the team’s ouster from the tournament.

Biswal submitted the report on Saturday, which also had his first-hand information on the brawl that happened between the Indian players and some fans from the US over dinner has led to strong action by the board.

Sources added that there were a few more players than those being show-caused at the pub but they had no role to play in the fracas and hence will be left with a warning for now.

yuvraj, excellent batsman, has not proved himself to be a sportsman. as far as the `brawl` issue is concerned, he should be taken to task as these kind of things are old hat to him.
yet the bcci making an issue of this, particularly at this time when the indian team lost miserably, is a farce.
the bcci has found a most convenient scapegoat in these players and the incident.
the way they are carrying on, bringing the `brawl` to the forefront, one would think that this indiscretion on the part of exhausted and mortified players is the main issue.
this is trying to hoodwink the public. the real issue is bcci`s loading too many games on the players, hectic schedules, allowing the ipl parties to the way they went on, poor traveling facilities, and an absolutely farcical team ion, not acting firmly enough on yuvraj when he was guilty of indiscipline in the past, and letting the country down.

all the team members should be banned from representing india. all members are more interested in girls, dancing and parties.not to forget money. now a days our cricketers are just playing where you have a chance to earn for life. so our cricketers mind setting is like what we will win or lose.

no doubt indian team is having great talented players. after watching ipl matches and t20 world cup i got to know our players will give more than 100% commitment while playing ipl matches but they are reluctant to give atleast 10% commitment while playing for the country.

this is good example to give punishment these players and not ing for asian cup. as far as few players are totally unfit and lack of commintment for nation pride. one big example is uv, he is totally attracted with glamour and misconduct all the time, take a example of ipl captaincy now this pub brawl he is totally unfit for indian team. i think he must marry now his mind is like playboy. bcci should teach him a lesson like the way did to irfan pathan. uv unable a field a single ball in full match just wants to bat this is not cricket. i think he is exploiting the friendshiop with msd. kick him from the team with ravindra jadeja.
thanks

i do agree with those who are of veiw that indispline must be delt with iron hand.it is pity that it has crept in every walk of life in indian society so nine out of ten are defamed. when one is representing the country abroad and indulge in such acts that bring dishonour to nation alerts the authority to take note of it with action.only then we can hope and able to reduce the numberof nine. otherwise we would say god save the nation.

this players should be banned from cricket what they think india is their personal property they have links with some politicians so they can make fun of india specially yuraj singh i am not going to watch cricket and waste my time from nowonwards we working in other country support our team and this players are dancing with girls in ipl parties thay have to be taught a lesson.
but as we all know nothing will happen.their is a proverb in hindi that.....
sauw ( 100 ) may sae naubhy ( 90 ) baiman pher bhi mera bharat mahan.
