New Delhi: Thirty-five people, who were on
their way to Rajasthan for a pilgrimage, were injured when
the bus they were travelling in overturned in the national
capital early today.
The incident took place in Yamuna Vihar D-block locality
at around 2.30 am when the driver lost control of the speeding
bus and ran over a divider, a senior police official said.
Thirty-five people were injured in the accident and
were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, police and hospital
The condition of two, including a minor girl, is
stated to be serious.
The bus, which was packed with pilgrims, was coming
from Moradabad and going to Bhoga in Rajasthan. "They were on
a pilgrimage," the official said.
Soon after the incident, the driver fled the spot while
the injured conductor escaped from hospital.
A hunt is on to nab the driver.
