New Delhi: In a bid to strengthen its base among the student community, the Aam Aadmi Party will formally launch its student wing Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYYS) on the ocassion of Bhagat Singh's 107th brith anniversary on Saturday.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will launch the student wing along with other party leaders Kumar Vishwas, Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai, Sanjay Singh and Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann.

The party said CYSS will strive to dispel negativity associated with student politics in the country and its aim will be to channelise the positive energy of the student power towards nation building.

"Student organisations cannot continue to work as vote catching machines of their parent political parties, which is one of the main reasons behind the public disgust against student politics in the country.

"They need to have a clear vision about combating money and muscle power in politics, which is the root cause for corruption," a party spokesperson said.
