New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday said that no party MLA has demanded pay hike.
"There are financial challenges for many of our MLAs, those who left jobs and those who are studying. There is no demand of pay hike by AAP MLAs. It is just a concern expressed by some MLAs," he told ANI.
Bharatiya Janata Party's ( BJP) Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay, meanwhile, claimed that no MLA from any other party has demanded a salary hike.
"The kind of demand that has been put forward by the MLAs for salary hike, I would like to say that no MLA from any party has ever demanded a salary hike. AAP claimed to be different. After coming to power they said that they don't need any cars or bungalows. An MLA gets one lakh rupees approx. Is that not enough for a common man?" he said.
